My life have been on a rollercoaster for the past two months, I barely had time to update my tumblr. I’ve been moving, traveling and starting a new job. The days are long and that gives me even less time to take pictures. I’m still working out a schedule and a way to squeeze in photography in my plans. I have to do that anyway because well not taking snaps makes me sad and miserable!
Anyway, I still have a bit of a backlog to post here and two rolls of film ready to be processed (hopefully before Christmas).
Stay classy people and thanks for sticking out with old me.
-Submissions must be shot on film! (including the type of film is suggested but not mandatory)
-include any links to your tumblr or website (so other film loving people can find you!)
This blog is submission based, so please only submit what you would think to be your “Best” images.
About this blog:
This blog is operated by photographers for photographers! So please, spread this post around so we can start sharing your work with other film loving people! The blog itself will consist of submissions from you guys, and once we begin to gain a good following, we will start doing some other fun stuff like monthly themes where you can submit photos based off of the particular theme. The goal of this blog is to share the different viewpoints of film photographers, from black and white to color, even alternative processes like wet plate! It’s all accepted here.
I’ve finished editing (or should I say re-editing) the first set of pictures that was gathering dust in my hdd. I’m pretty happy with the result and will do the same with some others shot very very soon.
I’ll begin the spamming in a few minutes, but it’s just 5 shots so it’s not that much of a spamming!
“I heard a joke once: Man goes to doctor. Says he’s depressed. Says life is harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world. Doctor says, “Treatment is simple. The great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go see him. That should pick you up.” Man bursts into tears. Says, “But doctor… I am Pagliacci.” Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains.”—
I feel overly uninspired as of late. I haven’t touched my camera in like 2 weeks. The last roll of film I installed is probably getting dust in there and I still have like 34 frames to take. I don’t know how I’m going to that. Sometimes it’s so easy it comes super naturally and other times well It feels super hard to be inspired and motivated to do anything creative.
On another hand, I’m not feeling motivated about anything at all as of late, spending my days listening to music, playing poker and watching mad men. What a life.
But, I’ve been going through my shootings of last year, re-editing them in a more “professional” fashion in other to update my sets in a coherent way. So that they may one day be part of a “book”. I’m looking for models in my area but there aren’t any willing to shoot with me and it’s such a shame, it’s depressing me. Arf!
Anyway, sorry to bother you all with this. I had to write it somewhere :p
If you managed to read all that, well listen this is my present to you :
Personally I’m liking the new design, it’s slick, close to what 500px have been offering for quite some time now. Apparently they want it to be more “social” with a new homepage filled with updates about our contacts instead of our own.
It still have some major drawbacks though:
- Where the hell do we follow our activity now? I kinda used to like it on the homepage.
- The new paid subscriptions offers are a HUGE rip-off. It’s almost as if they want everyone to stick with a free account only. Now you have to pay 50$/yr just to get rid of the ads and a wooping 500$ for 2TB of storage. I still have a pro account for 25$/yr and well maybe I’ll keep it. The thing is, the new free account offer almost everything we used to have with the pro account except the stats and the absence of ads. Storage is a non issue because I hardly believe someone will use up all the 1TB except if you use flickr as a backup storage for your photos and that’s not really it’s primary function.
All in all, I’m liking the update. Some things can still be improved here and there but I believe they really needed the change after so much time of doing NOTHING.
Well, Yahoo have been pretty busy this weekend. And I’m thinking about ditching the pro account even though I still love my STATS!
